1. General Information

Our campus is located in Zimba, along Livingstone Road, in the Southern Province of Zambia.

Africa Wesleyan University College (AWUC) was accredited by the Higher Education Authority (HEA) on 7th September 2026. We are committed to ensuring that our programmes meet the required standards for quality higher education and academic excellence.

Absolutely. While we are a Christ-centred institution, we warmly welcome students from all religious, cultural, and national backgrounds.

2. Admissions

Standard admission typically requires a minimum of 5 O-level credits, including English and Mathematics, or an equivalent qualification. Specific program requirements may vary. Please check our Programmes Page for specific details.

Yes, applicants of at least 35 years of age can be admitted into our Theology programme. If you have a diploma or certificate, you are eligible to apply if you meet the requirements for the applied program, subject to Dean of School and Senate approval.

Yes! We welcome students from across Africa and the globe. International applicants must have qualifications equivalent to our national entry requirements and will need to meet standard immigration/visa regulations for Zambia.

Yes, there is a non-refundable application fee of ZMW 150.

Important Notice: DO NOT pay the application fee to any accounts other than those officially published on the university's official website and verification channels.

Yes, we accept transfer students from other recognized higher education institutions. Credit transfers are reviewed on a case-by-case basis based on academic transcripts and course syllabi.

3. Academic Programs

Yes, we offer flexible learning options. In addition to our full-time on-campus programs, we will provide distance e-learning and blended learning options for students who need to balance work and studies. Note: As we launch, initial offerings will focus on full-time on-campus classes.

Yes, practical experience is central to our curriculum. Depending on your program, students will complete mandatory attachments, internships, teaching practices, or field-based practicums prior to graduation.

Yes, we are currently rolling out undergraduate programs with plans to introduce postgraduate degrees in the near future.

4. Fees & Scholarships

Our tuition fees at launch are set at ZMW 6,000 for local students and ZMW 7,200 (USD Equivalent) for international students across all our initial programs. For a detailed breakdown of tuition and administrative fees, please contact our Admissions office.

Yes, we currently have a church partnership program for Wesleyan churches sponsoring students, and warmly welcome non-Wesleyan churches and corporate bodies to partner with us. Additionally, if a church or organization is sponsoring your studies outside our partnership program, our accounts office will work directly with them to manage billing and official invoicing.

5. Student Life

Yes, secure on-campus housing will be offered for full-time students in the near future. Currently, we have Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with approved boarding houses ready to host our students. Placement and allocation are managed on a first-come, first-served basis.

As a Christ-centred institution focused on spiritual growth, regular chapel attendance is an integral and highly encouraged part of our campus community life for all full-time on-campus students.

Life at AWUC goes beyond the classroom! Students can participate in campus ministries, student leadership, sports clubs, music and worship teams, as well as various academic and cultural societies.

Yes, student safety is our top priority. The campus features 24/7 security personnel and controlled access gates to ensure a peaceful and secure environment for learning and living.
